FAQ

Do I need to choose acupuncture or fascial care?

Not necessarily. Choose the initial appointment that best matches your primary concern; the treatment is chosen collaboratively after assessment.

Do I have to be an athlete?

No. WREN works with active adults, people returning to activity, and people seeking more comfort and capability in everyday life.

What should I book first?

Choose the 90-minute Initial Clinical Assessment ($225) for complex pain, injury, movement, or integrated needs; choose the 75-minute Initial Acupuncture Visit ($185) when primarily seeking acupuncture.

What happens during the first appointment?

We discuss your history, goals, and concerns; perform a relevant assessment; explain findings and options; and provide appropriate treatment when indicated and with consent.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on what you're coming in for and how long it's been going on, so there is no honest fixed number. Many people notice some change within the first few visits. At your first appointment we talk through a plan together, then review how you're responding and adjust as we go— you're never locked into a set course of visits.

Is treatment painful?

Sensations vary. Some manual techniques may feel intense and acupuncture may cause temporary sensation. Treatment remains collaborative.

Do you still offer massage?

Manual therapy remains part of WREN’s clinical care. Massage appointments continue to be available for established clients and can be found under Massage on the booking page. For pain, injury, or movement-related concerns, we recommend starting with an Initial Clinical Assessment or Initial Fascial Assessment.

Can I book only acupuncture?

Yes. New patients can choose the Initial Acupuncture Visit, with a complete appropriate intake and assessment.

Do you accept insurance?

WREN is direct-pay and does not bill insurance. Payment is due at the time of service. A superbill may be provided on request for possible out-of-network reimbursement; coverage depends on your plan.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing that permits relevant examination and movement is helpful.  Treatment needs and draping are discussed before care begins.

Where are you located?

1441 York St, Suite 305-F, Denver, CO 80206. Parking is available in a paid lot, with free 2-hour street parking.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations and reschedules  require 48 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice are charged a $100 fee.

When will acupuncture be available?

Acupuncture opens in November, pending licensure. Members of the Founding List get 48-hour priority booking when appointments open.

What does acupuncture feel like?

Most people feel little or nothing when the needles are placed, followed by a dull ache, heaviness, or tingling around the needles. Sensations fade quickly, and treatment is adjusted to your comfort. Tell me before treatment if you are pregnant, take blood thinners, have a pacemaker or other implanted device, or feel uneasy about needles. These change what is appropriate, including whether electroacupuncture is used.

How is fascial care different from massage?

Fascial care is assessment-led clinical care: your history, movement, and examination findings guide hands-on treatment. Relaxation-focused massage aims mainly at comfort and stress relief. Manual therapy remains part of clinical care at WREN.

How should I prepare for performance testing?

Come fasted for resting metabolic rate (RMR) testing. Before VO2 max testing, avoid hard exercise and caffeine.
